Southwestern Yacht Club has an unmatched location in a picturesque Point Loma residential area within the Shelter Island Yacht Basin. There are nearby walking trails, local restaurants and boating services. SWYC offers convenient and direct access to both San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean directly from its docks. With stunning views of Point Loma and San Diego Bay, SWYC features a state-of-the-art yachting Clubhouse and facilities, refurbished in 2010.

Committed to community involvement, SWYC hosts annual fundraising events, known as our Benefit on the Bay events. These events include a gala, a bay race with a post-race BBQ, and our famous Bottom Fishing Tournament hosted by the SWYC Anglers, with all proceeds supporting a deserving San Diego foundation. The Club proudly supports various community initiatives, such as the Junior Foundation, which provides scholarships for youth sailing programs, the White Sea Bass Release Project, Captain Rollo’s Kids at Sea, and ElderHelp of San Diego.
