SABOT RACE TEAM PRACTICE & SABOT LEARN TO RACE
With a full race calendar in the Southern California area, we encourage this group to participate as much as possible. In addition to after-school practices there are clinics and group activities as well as coaching. Focus is on maintaining competitive sailing skills and developing regatta performance. Sportsmanship is emphasized. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.
NON RACING SAILORS
We want to encourage those non-racing sailors to continue their sailing throughout the year. Come down for our after-school program and get out on the water with friends. Both Sabots and Open Skiffs will be available.
BEGINNING DOUBLEHANDED SAILING
This class is for kids 12 years old and up looking to learn how to sail with a friend! They will learn the basics of skippering and crewing in a CFJ.
DOUBLEHANDED RACING
Focus will be in improving competitive sailing skills and regatta performance. Sportsmanship will be emphasized. Practices will be held after school on Fridays. Emphasis will be on boat handling, fleet and team racing, as well as participation in traveling regattas and clinics.
FISHING - Fridays
Aside from our after school program, SWYC Anglers have a tournament calendar that is open to juniors for participation. Awards are given for individual tournaments and at the end of the year. Juniors should contact the Junior Director if they wish to participate in a tournament.
